We’ve now closed our Depop Wallet feature and moved all Depop Wallet sellers, including you, to PayPal. PayPal makes it safer, easier, and smoother for everyone to buy and sell on Depop, and as we grow, your safety is our top concern.

What do I need to do?
Any items listed will not be purchasable until you’ve connected your PayPal (even if the green buy button is visible). To sell and get paid, you must connect your Depop to a PayPal account. To do this, go to Profile > Settings > PayPal. Click here to learn more.

What happens if I don't have a PayPal account?
If you don’t have a PayPal account, you’ll be able to create one. Just go to Profile > Settings > PayPal.

What happens to any money that's pending?
Don’t worry—any pending money will be released to your available balance as normal. Just make sure to mark your item as shipped once you’ve sent your item, so your money is released to you. 

What happens to the items in my shop?
Any items listed will still be visible on your profile. So that your items can be purchased, you’ll need to connect your PayPal account. Your items may still have the green buy button but they won’t be purchasable until you’ve connected your PayPal to Depop.

What happens to my available balance?
Your money is still safely in your Wallet, and you’ll be able to cash it out as normal. We’ll only close your Wallet once you’ve connected your PayPal account and cashed out all of your money. If you have no available or pending balance, your Wallet will be closed as soon as you’ve connected your PayPal account.

What if I need to refund a Wallet payment?
As long as there’s enough money in your Wallet to cover the refund, you’ll be able to issue a refund to your buyer using that money. Once your Wallet has been closed, or if you don’t have enough in your Wallet to cover the refund, please get in touch with us at support@depop.com and we can help you refund your buyer.

What if someone opens a dispute against me?
If a Wallet dispute is opened against you, we’ll put a hold on the transaction and send you an email to let you know that a dispute has been opened. Just reply to our email with the relevant information so that the dispute can be resolved quickly.

Do I still have to wait 14 days to get my money?
No. Once you've connected to PayPal, the money will be sent directly to your PayPal account once the buyer has purchased your item.

How do buyers purchase my items?
Once you’ve connected your PayPal, buyers will be able to purchase from you using their PayPal account or a credit/debit card, which is processed by PayPal.

How will this affect fees?
Our Depop selling fee is still 10%, and we do not profit from this switch. Once you connect to PayPal, the 2.5% Depop Wallet transaction fee will no longer be taken, but will be replaced by PayPal’s fees. Please see our other Help Centre article about fees for more information.

Can I still mark as shipped?
For PayPal transactions, there isn’t an option to mark as shipped just yet. The best thing to do is to drop your buyer a message to let them know that their item is on its way.

Can I stick with Wallet?
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to stay on Depop Wallet. We’ve moved everyone to one payment platform because it’s safer and easier for all parties involved.
