Once you’ve found an item you want to buy (woo hoo!), click the Buy button and the Checkout window will open (Don’t worry, you’ll still have time to finalize the transaction!). This is where you can see delivery options (whether the buyer is open to meet in person to deliver the item and/or will ship it to you), where you confirm or edit your shipping address, see a price breakdown, and choose your payment method.
All transactions must occur in-app through PayPal to be protected under our Buyer Protection policy. You can checkout in-app using your debit card, credit card (Mastercard, Maestro, Visa, and American Express), or your PayPal account. To checkout using your debit or credit card, scroll to the bottom of the Checkout page and click Debit or Credit card. This will take you to PayPal’s guest checkout page where you can enter your debit or credit card information and check out securely without actually using a PayPal account.
If you would like to check out using your PayPal account, scroll down to the bottom of the Checkout page and click PayPal account. Login to your PayPal account and click Pay Now. If you decide you don’t want to buy the item anymore, you can always click cancel and return back to Depop. Please note: If you have a debit or credit card that’s associated with a PayPal account, you must checkout using that PayPal account to use the card, or else you’ll get an error message.
Once you hit Pay Now, we’ll send a confirmation email to the email address associated with your Depop account, and PayPal will send a confirmation email to the email address associated with your PayPal account. Just to be safe, it’s a good idea to shoot your seller a message thanking them for the item and asking for a tracking number, so you’ll know when you should expect to receive it.
